In a harmonious fusion of cultural reverence and modern artistry, Jackson Ltd is thrilled to announce the completion of the Mahi Toi artworks gracing the Ngā Hau Māngere bridge. Standing proudly at a commanding height of 8 meters, these two magnificent pou whenua serve as a captivating gateway for all bridge-crossers.
Based right here in Auckland, New Zealand, Jackson Industries takes immense pride in our role in this project. With our capabilities rooted in our local expertise, we seamlessly integrated into the project, working hand in hand with the client and artist to transform vision into reality. Our Auckland-based team, equipped with cutting-edge technology and a wealth of experience, meticulously crafted a 3D CAD model of the artist’s design. Utilizing our onsite CNC machines, we then fashioned our master tool, essential for sculpting the intricate details of these towering forms. Notably, this project stands as one of our largest and most intricate endeavours to date.
Highlighting our commitment to excellence, we executed the master tool process with precision, employing our proprietary rubber liner technique. Right here in Auckland, our team expertly blended, cast, and produced the moulds, ensuring every detail was immaculately captured. Our ability to undertake such intricate work onsite underscores our responsiveness and dynamic approach to project execution.
Now unveiled to the public, these artworks serve as more than mere adornments; they serve as poignant reminders of our rich cultural heritage and the spirit of innovation that defines us as New Zealanders. As we admire their beauty, let us also pay homage to the collective effort behind their creation. Acknowledging the invaluable contributions of the local mana whenua, we walk across the Ngā Hau Māngere bridge with gratitude, recognizing that every step we take is on a path steeped in history, culture, and innovation.
In addition to these grand works, we also created the master tool for the side panels for the length of this bridge, back when it was being structurally engineered. This has been a multi-year project that we are honoured to be a part of.
At Jackson’s, we remain steadfast in our commitment to honouring cultural heritage through the craftsmanship of art – right here in Auckland, New Zealand.
